Sharing Retirement With Friends
Sharing Retirement With Friends
Does the thought of retiring scare you a little? While some people dream of the day they can retire, others think of it as a way of totally disconnecting from the world. In fact, many people see it as a time where they lose their co-workers and friends they socialize with daily. However, it really doesn’t have to be that way. You can share your retirement with friends and family, which makes it a fun time that you will treasure forever.
One way you can do this is to make weekly plans with those you know. They may be retired and can take long trips with you and your spouse. You can plan vacations with other couples you know that have retired and spend time together in ways you never could before.
In addition, even if your friends are not retired, you will be able to meet them for lunch throughout the week. You will also be freer to do things with them on the weekends, which may not have been as possible before you retired.
When you think about retirement, don’t think you are being locked away to grow old. Think of it as a time to relax and rest yourself. You deserve that time to yourself and to do things you want to do. You will not lose your friends and in fact might even be able to foster better friendships because of the extra time you will have to devote to relationships in your life. So, don’t be afraid of retirement, but embrace it with all its glory.
